The track rolls past you like a French Nouvelle Vague film, all black and white, terribly sad but totally engaging at the same time. It is the title track of DM Stith’s recent mini album/EP ‘BMB’ on Asthmatic Kitty, the label co-founded by Sufjan Stevens.

The ‘BMB’ EP is a sparse and melancholic exercise in songwriting. You will find two more remixes of the track ‘BMB’ on here, including one by Roberto Lange of Latin Dub act Helado Negro. In addition you get two more Stith originals and two covers.

Stith’s uncompromising delivery adds drama and menace to the two covers of pop classics ‘Be My Baby’ by the Ronettes and ‘Suzanne’ by Randy Newman.

Bat for Lashes singer Natasha Khan personally asked DM Stith to support her band at a sold out concert at London’s Somerset House earlier this week. Missed the gig? No worries, Stith will headline at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in East London on Monday, 20th July.
