Here is a free MP3 of the song ‘Angela’ by the unlikely named Speck Mountain to ease you into the week. Despite the folky sounding name of this duo, ‘Angela’ is prime chill-out music.
You’ll hear echoes of Chris Coco and Peter Green, pre-season Ibiza nights and general mellow goodness on this track. Excellent stuff and Speck Mountain are due to play New York’s Candy Store, the jumping board that catapulted many an indie band on to bigger things, on the 15th of July.
Speck Mountain are Karl Briedrick and Marie-Claire Balabanian who run a small indie label, Burnt Brown Sounds, in Chicago. ‘Angela’ is taken from their second album ‘Sweet Relief’, which was release in March 2009.
