There’s not much music better suited to a beach holiday than Surf Music. Even if you have no truck with surfing, our selection is bound to get your beach party or barbecue started.
Tuneraker.com presents rawest 1960’s garage rock by Dick Dale and proto-punks The Trashmen, brand new Seattle act Fleet Foxes, the late Dennis Wilson and the Beach Boys’ best surfing tunes.
Make sure you check out our new feature article ‘Surfers’ Choice’! If you don’t surf, you’re in for some pretty good music. Don’t take my word for it, trust the Ramones and Quentin Tarantino who both doffed their caps to the Trashmen and Dale respectively.
If you do surf, you’ll know what Dick Dale means when he says ‘I was just trying to put that energy of being on my board into my guitar playing.’
Personally, I also like a bit of old school Reggae when I’m loading up the car after a surf session, some good Studio One or Wackies stuff. But that’s a story for another day.
