Download ‘Trycycle’, a brand new track by Various Production. The UK’s hottest remix team has dropped a real dancefloor bomb.
‘Trycycle’ is the title track of Various Production’s brand new three track EP which has been released in the UK on 27th April. Stepping far outside the Grime and Dubstep genres, Various Production are going almost synth-pop on ‘Trycycle’, adding enough grit to keep it fresh. This is probably their catchiest tune since the ‘Wot You Say’ 7″ single in 2008, with the 8-bit roughness of the sound – think of old Atari computers – setting it apart from the New Wave revivalists out there.
The EP also features ‘Ramp’ with vocals by UK Hip Hop MC V.E.X. and the instrumental ‘B Side’. Luton rapper V.E.X. last worked with Various Production on the 2006 track ‘In This’, which got wider exposure through the ‘Warrior Dubz’ compilation put together by BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary-Anne Hobbs.
While the Various Production remix of Adele’s ‘Chasing Pavements’ is still tearing up the house with its sharp start-stop cuts and booming percussion, ‘Trycycle’ rings in a new, more playful sound.
Various Production have also launched a new outlet called Misc, which will initally release illustrations by in-house artist David Bray. Bray is responsible for the striking line drawings and calligraphy on Various Production’s covers and labels to date.
