Feeling nostalgic for a bit of plain old Punk Rock? The fast and fun, bubblegum type of Punk that neither grinds on your ears nor requires you to buy into any particular view of the world? Fine, try Cheap Time then.
Cheap Time are three guys from Nashville, Tennessee, a town not known to be a breeding ground for Punk. Nevermind, this is pure garage goodness with a large helping of The Undertones (listen to the track ‘Glitter & Gold’) and a little snifter of The Ramones (’People Talk’).
Loads of energy, raw sound, a couple of decent songs. It’s solid stuff but a listen to this album won’t change your life. Not a bad CD for the car stereo, I’d say.
Like all good Punk albums, this CD clocks in at less than 30 minutes. If you are a value-for-money kind of guy, this is a bit of a downer as it’ll still cost you the full CD album price. You’ve been warned.
